Product Design Manager

Salary : £32000 – £37500/annum
Our client, who manufacture playground equipment, are looking to appoint an experienced Product Design Manager to join their team in Chester. The successful candidate will work alongside multiple departments to create exciting and innovative outdoor playground equipment.
The Product Design Manager will be responsible for managing and steering Product Development throughout the company. The position requires a creative talent and technical background to create exciting and innovative new products, whilst also managing and continuing to improve our existing product range of over 500 products.
Key Responsibilities of the Product Design Manager:
* Managing the existing product range and looking to introduce improvements
* Creating innovative and exciting new product ranges
* Producing detailed drawings for manufacture & installation
* Designing for Manufacture and Assembly
* Producing programs for CNC machines
* Liaising with other internal departments and management to head up new product development
* Managing Bills of Quantities and Materials
* Delivering the product development plan on time and to specification
* Providing support for technical queries
* Identifying and delivering on opportunities to improve quality through redesign/production engineering
* Responsible for market research
The Product Design Manager will have:
* Outstanding creative and technical skills
* A passion to drive projects and see through to completion
* An experienced people manager
* A hands-on approach and be a great collaborator with different departments
* An empowering and strong leadership style
* Experience using Adobe and Microsoft Software packages
* Strong 3D CAD skills (Rhinoceros)
* Knowledge of CNC programs
* Ability to present and showcase new products and ideas to board members
