Fabric Developer

Our client at Burberry are currently looking for a Fabric Developer who is fluent in Italian to come join their team in London for an initial 2 month contract.
This role will be full time on site in London at Burberry headquarters.
JOB PURPOSE
The Trim Developer will be responsible to develop trim for men's collection/runway, and will partner with design to develop prototypes, samples to high level of detail and quality. Adding technical support, solutions during reviews and any adhoc requests from design or Creative chief. This role will have high level of visibility and exposure to senior leaders in design and will require a high level of RTW trim technical knowledge, expertise to find and source solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop RTW Trim for specific product categories in accordance with the design and merchandisers brief, with a key focus on runway/collection.
* High level of influence, strong communication skills and problem-solving approach during fittings with Chief Creative Officer and Design team.
* Strong listening skills and appreciation of brand aesthetic code to develop trims for RTW.
* Work with intricate patterns, designs, styles, fabrics, trims, including high volume requests in prototypes and samples.
* Liaise and influence with suppliers, understanding their offer, inventory and techniques.
* Responsible to adhere to the product development and design critical path
* Maintain a constant flow of communication with the internal teams, including clear note taking from fittings and debriefing to wider teams and vendors.
* International travel to vendors required
* Maintain PLM System, ensuring it is up to date at all times and accurate information inputted.
PERSONAL PROFILE
* Strong Trim Technical expertise in development
* Fluent in Italian (written and verbal) to liaise with vendors
* Ability to build a solid network with vendors, designers, product developers, merchandising
* Strong communication, listening and influencing skills
* Market and trend awareness.
In return Burberry are offering:
– Full time on site.
– £170 per day.
– Initial 2 month contract.
