Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic Events Management business who are looking to recruit an Events Production Manager on a permanent basis due to growth.

The business mainly provides services to corporate events which generally take place on weekdays, although some weekend working will be required, and there is a high degree of flexibility regarding working hours, as well as an understanding that this is not a 9-5 job.

The purpose of the Production Manager is to bring together all aspects of a show. From turning the clients brief and vision into a workable proposal to onsite delivery and management. This is an important role that requires a commercial understanding with responsibility for the planning and on-site delivery of a variety of events to ensure client satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities:

Creating quotations or proposals with floor plans to help win events and clients.
Planning, managing and overseeing technical and scenic installations at events taking responsibility for their implementation on site and subsequent safe removal.
Producing technical schematics, cable calls and floor plans.
Engaging in client and project development processes and assisting with pitching for new business alongside the sales team when required.
Helping to calculate and plan crew and logistics in conjunction with the Operations Department, including booking technical crew, local crew, teams and logistics.
Producing health and safety documentation.
Proactively keeping up to date with the latest technology, rigging, power and safety procedures.

Qualifications and experience:

Previous extensive experience as a live event AV technician is essential; this might be as an employee of an events AV company, within a venue, or, as a freelance technician.
End-to-end technical project management experience in live events, including virtual events, and the ability to troubleshoot and act assertively when managing on-site crew.
CAD skills (deciphering and creating) in Vectorworks or equivalent.
Ability to confidently calculate lens throws, lighting angles, weight loads, speaker dispersion, power draws, sight lines, floor load restrictions etc.
Good understanding of event power, cable runs and event-based health and safety.
Commercial and negotiation skills together with the ability to produce a job.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical challenges when under pressure, whilst maintaining client confidence.
Good IT skills including being competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
A professional and courteous manner, radiating calmness and confidence under pressure.
Good written and verbal communication.
A good level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail.
A’ Levels as a minimum, preferably a relevant degree.
