ATA Recruitment are working in partnership with a global leading process engineering business who deliver projects for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. Our client provides full bespoke turnkey solutions to their customers on projects ranging from £2 million to £100 million in value.

The company currently employs over 300 staff worldwide boasting over 100 engineers with many of these being chartered engineers. The business has seen exponential growth within the last two years after a substantial investment, allowing our client to move aggressively into their chosen markets. With projects ran globally in China, Mexico, USA and in the UK, our client has become synonymous for delivering state of the art solutions for process plant projects.

They are looking to add a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer to their team based in Derbyshire, you will have the opportunity to work with industry experts on a variety of projects playing a crucial part in the delivery and success.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of a vibrant team producing the best solutions for the projects using Auto CAD Plant and CADWorx P&ID packages. You will be reporting directly to the Mechanical Design Manager and the business can support people in training on the CAD packages they use.

Some of the duties that the Mechanical Design Engineer will have to carry out are:

Drawing 2D P&IDs for projects that show the layout of mechanical equipment such as pumps, heat exchanger, valves and pipework using CADWorx P&ID
Editing the P&ID drawings in line with any process design changes during projects.
3D modelling of a plant layout using AutoCAD Plant package.
Occasional site surveys to understand potential layouts for sites
Attend design reviews internally.
You will be working in vibrant design department that employs 18 people – this will provide excellent opportunities to learn from your peers as well as your manager.

The ideal Mechanical design engineer will have a passion for design and great attention to detail, the ability to work well in a team and as an individual.

To be successful in your application for the Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:

3D modelling experience.
A mechanical engineering qualification.
Result driven, confident, and dynamic personality.
To be flexible, team player and supportive.
To have an appetite for learning – the business offers training on AutoCAD Plant and CADWorx systems

£32,000 – £36,000
Training on AutoCAD Plant and CADWorx P&ID if you haven’t used these previously
4% Matched Pension.
Overtime paid £21 PH after core hours.
25 Days holiday + bank holidays
Flexible hours
Agile working following probation (three in the office, two from home)
