The Role
Our client is seeking a CAD Engineer to join their Research and Development (R&D) team. You will be responsible for designing new parts using Solid Works, working closely with other members of the R&D team to ensure that all designs meet the required specifications and standards. You will also be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and maintaining accurate records of all design work.
The Candidate
Knowledge of sheet metalwork and metal folding tolerances, as well as of multiple materials and processes would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
* Using CAD software to design new parts and modify existing designs to meet changing requirements.
* Collaborating with other members of the R&D team to ensure that designs meet all necessary specifications and standards.
* Creating detailed technical drawings to recognised standards and maintaining accurate records of all design work.
* Ensuring that all designs are optimised for manufacturing processes, including sheet metalwork and metal folding tolerances.
* Working with the R&D team to identify areas where new design concepts or technologies can be used to improve product performance and/or reduce costs.
* Participating in design reviews, making recommendations for improvements.
* Providing support to manufacturing and production teams to ensure that all designs can be efficiently and effectively produced.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree or HND in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in CAD design and engineering being employed in
a company.
* At least 5 years of experience using Solid Works CAD software.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
