Our client is a well respected omi-channel apparel retailer/brand. As part of their succession planning, an opportunity has arisen for a Sourcing & Operations Director. You will have strong management skills and experience in all areas of business operations especially corporate and retail products, warehouse operations, recruitment, buying and sourcing.
This expanding business needs someone who understands the complexities, challenges, satisfactions and frustrations of being a Director, and who want to utilise their knowledge and skills to make a difference, and in helping it succeed in its vision for future growth.
Sourcing & Operations Director – Key Responsibilities include:
* To be responsible for all sourcing, buying, office and warehouse operations, staffing including all commercial strategic operations in all areas of the business.
* To source where required any new fabric or manufacturing operations for the future proofing of the businesses supply chain. Set key margin targets for all manufacturers.
* Set clear buying and delivery procedures with suppliers to ensure superior quality product is delivered and delivery rates are achieved.
* Liaise with Buying Directors to identify new areas of business & sourcing opportunities, discuss ongoing strategy, and agree key margin targets.
* Liaise with the Buying Directors with regards to new product selection
* Hit target margins for all product purchasing as agreed with buying directors
* Oversee stock levels within business, review stock service products and agree strategy for dealing with end of season stock
* Manage all staff in buying, merchandise, quality and technical sectors
* Manage all staff in the warehouse, goods in and goods out
* Liaise with HR to ensure smooth operations of all staff and office operations
* Continuously seek ways to improve internal processes to maximise operational performance.
* Prepare reporting for the Board Meeting every month.
* Work with other Directors to ensure Operational Communications are consistent, compliant and relevant.
* Coach and mentor your team to develop and support them, and to deliver the business vision and values.
* Reports directly to Business Owners.
Sourcing & Operations Director – Person specification:
* Degree-level education with background in fashion, retail or textiles.
* Senior management experience in multi-channel sourcing and operations.
* Motivational leadership skills, ability to lead by example and liaise at all levels. To advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity.
* A natural facilitator of people, process and situations
* A driver, originator, finisher.
* Excellent time management, ability to work at speed and to multi-task in a pressurised environment
* An inquisitive mind, with the ability to troubleshoot.
* Ability to successfully react and respond to challenge.
* Innovative with the ability to seek out opportunities to create effective change.
* A team player. At all levels, work collaboratively, share information appropriately and build supportive, trusting and professional relationships with colleagues and clients
