If so, we have a fantastic opportunity where you will quickly become a key contributor within a growing but established business.
You will take responsibility for the purchasing of materials, building effective relationships with various suppliers, and negotiating prices adhering to quality, quantity, and delivery specifications. This will include but not limited to:

Working with the Purchasing Manager to negotiate and agree on costs for all parts required by the Manufacturing facility.
Responsible for sourcing alternative products and suppliers and working with the Production Engineering and Quality departments to obtain final approval.
Working with the Purchasing Manager and the Quality Control Manager to ensure that all goods supplied are of the highest quality in line with agreed specifications.
Work with the Research and Development department to source components and suppliers for new projects and existing product design changes.
To work closely with our Chinese Buyer to ensure that where practical and economically viable more components are re-sourced in China using our existing and new supplier base.
Managing and auditing new and existing suppliers and liaising with our worldwide supplier base.
Driving cost reduction on supplier expenditure through strong negotiations on cost, volume, and lead times.
Driving supplier reviews, contract design changes, and recommending approvals in accordance with contract agreements.
Ensuring supply chain fit is for purpose.
NPI Responsibilities
End-of-month reportingGeneral requirements for the role:

CIPS qualified/working towards or qualified by experience.
Previous purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
Commercial judgement, contract management skills, and knowledge in MRP systems.
Able to think outside the box, share ideas and problem solve.
Good analytical skills.
Able to support the Purchasing Manager in future-proofing the business by anticipating changes that may affect the supply chain.
In addition, to have commercial judgement, contract management skills and knowledge in MRP systems.
Strong negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
