Senior Technical Artist
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £65000 – £75000/annum
Tec Partners are working with a fast growing studio based who are now working on a new FPS game.
They are looking for two experienced Senior Technical Artists who can work alongside their team of passionate game artists and programmers to deliver a game in line with the visual goal.
Ideally you will have a background working on a similar style of game.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with artists, programmers, and designers to develop and implement cutting-edge art pipelines and tools.
Create and maintain efficient and visually stunning shaders, materials, and effects.
Optimize and streamline asset creation workflows to enhance productivity and achieve top-quality results.
Develop and maintain art production pipelines, documentation, and guidelines to ensure consistent and high-quality asset creation.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the art team, identifying and resolving any technical challenges that may arise.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, techniques, and tools, and propose innovative solutions to improve the overall visual quality of our games.Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
In-depth knowledge of real-time rendering techniques, shaders, and materials.
Proficient with industry-standard software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Suite, and Photoshop.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, MaxScript, or MEL.
Experience with Unreal Engine and the ability to optimize art assets for real-time rendering.
Solid understanding of art asset optimization techniques, memory constraints, and performance considerations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
This role requires someone to work on site in their studio in Derby on a 4 day working week basis.
