Our client is a leading arts organisation based in Birmingham committed to delivering innovative performances and supporting the local arts. As Head of Finance and part of the Strategic Management Team, you will lead the financial planning and management reporting and ensure the accuracy of the accounting systems. You will provide financial leadership and contribute to shaping the financial arts landscape while enjoying the benefits of a part-time role with flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Business Strategy: Collaborate with directors to lead financial planning and prepare budgets, cash flow plans, and reports;
Management Reporting: Prepare the monthly reports and quarterly management accounts, supporting analysis and liaise with department heads to identify financial risks;
Statutory Obligations: Manage HMRC submissions, audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements;
Funding Development: Support fundraising strategies and provide financial reporting for funding applications;
External Relationships: Review vendors, manage relationships with banks, auditors, and suppliers and implement effective processes;
Staff Management: Lead the Finance Assistant and ensure smooth financial operations;
General Adhoc: Play a vital role in strategic planning and operational excellence projects.As Head of Finance, you will:
Qualified as CIMA, ACCA or ACA or equivalent;
Have a proven track record in finance leadership;
Have knowledge of current accounting principles and best practices, particularly in the non-profit/charity sector;
Have experience managing staff or leading a finance team;
Be familiar with accounting and payroll systems (e.g., Xero, Go Cardless, Stripe);
Exceptional in relationship-building skills, working effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
Be self-motivated, independent, and adept at prioritising projects;
Have excellent numeracy and written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team;
Flexibility to accommodate part-time hours.In return, the business offers
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum (pro-rated for part-time), commensurate with experience;
Offering c25 hours (Office hours are 35 hours), flexible working hours with home working;
