Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business located in the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury area, currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to join the design team working on variety of mechanical and hydraulic design projects from new product design and redevelopment of existing products through to the design of new tooling solution.
The right candidate will have experience of leading whole design projects within mechanical and hydraulic projects and have experience of using CAD package and Siemens NX.
Key Responsibilities – Senior Design Engineer
Working on New Product Introduction using your design skills to work with the internal engineering teams to support the mechanical and hydraulic new assemblies and systems
Work with customers from start to finish of the whole design project and development of new products and processes
Planning and design the interrogation of new processes into the production line
Working within a team to tight tolerances and high standards
Creating cutting edge designs for customers making sure the designs are in line with the high standards set by the business
Good leader and team player
Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Design Engineer
Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
Mechanical and Hydraulic design experience
Experience of working with CAD package of Siemens NX
Understanding of manufacturing processes
DFMA, DFMEA, DTC and MBD and GD&T
