The Barn. What is it?
Our in-house agency – The Barn – was established in 2019 to help our UK brands win in a world of increasing media complexity. You’ll be working alongside specialists within production based in our Leeds office, and we also have strong teams dotted around the globe, with our head office in Denmark, specializing in campaign development and content production. We work interdisciplinary and we are curious, data driven, and results oriented.
About the job
As the Art Director, you will support our Creative Content Manager and Content Creator in crafting concepts and executing campaigns.
You will be presenting and pitching to clients, providing creative direction to team members and freelancers all while developing digital assets for consumer communication across our paid and owned channels for our branded portfolio including Cravendale Milk, Anchor Butter, and Lurpak.
Staying on top of emerging digital trends, you will be driving the creative process, developing overall direction and overseeing design and brand consistency across our portfolio. You will be responsible for managing the full project design life cycle, keeping a finger on the pulse from brief to delivery.
* Develop new ideas and concepts and participate in creative and design scoping sessions
* Develop content for digital campaigns (video, paid social media, mobile, etc.), ecommerce, and shopper
* Take the lead on creative, and work with the barn content team to conceptualise seasonal campaigns and always-on digital activation toolkits
* A deep knowledge of design tools including Adobe Creative suite
* Articulate and present creative ideas to the brand teams and marketing community
* Support junior designers and collaborate with the digital team
Who are you?
With your excellent understanding of the digital consumer and customer journey, you are able to develop and rethink digital craftmanship. You’ll lead and direct own projects and collaborate with the creative team to turn data and human insights into efficient and effective digital content and campaigns that deliver on the needs of the business. You have a high attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling different projects simultaneously. Moreover, you have strong communication skills, allowing you to engage colleagues and challenge preconceptions.
You also bring:
* Solid experience from a similar role within a creative digital agency or inhouse department, ideally within FMCG
* You have several years of experience in a comparable position with creative responsibility.
* Experience in designing cutting-edge campaign toolkits, and creative brand presentations for websites, apps, interfaces and/or digital campaigns
* Excellent skills in breaking down concepts from early ideation to tangible production; writing production briefs, setting up shoots, creating mood boards and selling in ideas.
* A great eye for visual composition in both static and video creative
* Knowledge of data-driven digital content production
* Experience in managing project deadlines and prioritisations
* A knowledge of the print process would be a great bonus
