As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support to students in various areas, including academic, personal, and social aspects. You will be a compassionate and understanding individual, dedicated to helping students develop the skills and strategies they need to thrive in their studies and future careers.

Key Responsibilities

Provide regular advising and support to students through both drop-in sessions and scheduled appointments.
Monitor student attendance.
Conduct face-to-face tutorials at regular intervals.
Act as a point of contact for relevant student cohorts.
Collaborate with the Course Leader and staff to maintain high student satisfaction levels.
Maintain accurate records of tutorials and phone calls, documenting relevant information for future reference.
Organise and maintain student files.
Support Open days by participating in planning and execution, ensuring a positive experience for prospective students and their families.

The Person

1-2 years of experience working with students in a HE setting.
Safeguarding and Health & Safety trained.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree in social work, counselling, or a related field is desired.
