Thorn Baker’s industry-leading client is looking for a Commercial Manager to join their regional commercial team in Sunderland.  You’ll be part of a company that values community, sustainability, and providing the best possible for their buyers, contributing to their consistently high-quality builds.

You will support the Commercial Director in setting targets and goals across the commercial department and ensuring that plans are in place to deliver those goals. This is a varied role, focused on ensuring consistent high performance from the team.

Your Responsibilities:

Manage, motivate, and train staff across the commercial function.
Liaising with other departments within the business unit to ensure a smooth process from land acquisition, to proceeding on site, to forming the site start budget.
Ensure that developments and contractor tenders are properly reviewed, appraised and value engineered to ensure best value. From land Purchase to being live on site. 
Negotiate and place orders with labour and material subcontractors on a competitive tender basis.
Required Skills:

Commercial Management experience with a Housing Developer
COINS experience
QS background
Relevant degree level qualification
Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health and Safety requirements.
