Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with a successful and forward-thinking architectural practice based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. Due to a buoyant workload of current and future projects the practice is looking for an Architectural Technologist / Technician with a positive and proactive approach to join their team.
In this role the successful candidate will be working on a number of projects, predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors, from concept stage through to completion and will have a very strong technical ability coupled with an excellent understanding of UK building regulations, excellent communication skills, and a high attention to detail. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD software is essential.
The Residential work the practice are involved with predominantly revolves around one off luxury builds, with projects ranging up to £5m in value. Other areas within the Residential sector they work on include small, multi unit developments of 2-5 houses on a plot. This presents an excellent opportunity for an Architectural Technologist to work on an array of interesting projects in the Residential sector.
Responsibilities of the Architectural Technologist include the following:
* Managing project workloads to meet various deadlines and programmes.
* Assist with the preparation of planning drawings and submission of planning applications.
* Producing detailed drawings and specifications for building regulations applications, tendering, and construction purposes to meet agreed cost, quality and time parameters.
* Collaborating with and coordinating the work of consultants and contractors.
* Carrying out site inspections and attending site to check on progress and to ensure the works are being constructed in accordance with contract documents.
* Liaising with contractors to resolve design and technical matters during the construction phase.
* Supporting the work of Architects and Architectural Assistants within the practice.
Qualification, Skills and Experience Requirements
Essential
* At least 3 years post qualification experience as an Architectural Technologist / Technician with a proven track record working in a similar design environment.
* A degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time-management skills.
* A team player as well as able to self-motivate and work autonomously using own initiative.
* A good eye for detail and a strong technical ability in all forms of construction and the ability to solve technical problems.
* Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD & Revit is essential for this position.
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of the UK Building Regulations
* Knowledge and understanding CDM Regulations 2015
The successful Architectural Technologist will be offered a salary in the region of £25,000-£34,000 per annum, alongside a competitive benefits package. After an initial probationary period, there may be the opportunity for hybrid working, but it is more likely that you will be required to be in the office full time. It's therefore preferable for applicants to be based within commutable distance of Stratford-upon-Avon.
