Procurement Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join our client, a London Based Museum on an interim basis. Start ASAP.

Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for delivering routine procurement activity in line with compliance and that value for money is achieved.

Day to day duties:

Support the Museum with all end-to-end procurement
Working on projects with tight deadlines
Ensure procurement is in line with policies, and operational practices comply with relevant legislation and other statutory requirements
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Stakeholders
Challenge current supply arrangements where appropriate and to support re-negotiating contracts

Previous Experience:

Knowledge of core procurement principles and activity
Previous experience of working in a procurement function
Experience of managing contracts and suppliers
Understanding of the application of whole life costing and total cost of ownership principles
Proven track record of influencing people and building collaborative partnerships with suppliers/ stakeholders
Previous experience of providing procurement advice and leading sourcing events in compliance with public regulations

Personal Characteristics:

Excellent interpersonal skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills
Confident communicator
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Proactive, enthusiastic, and reliable and comes with an ability to deliver to tight timescales Education:

Education to degree level or equivalent work experience within a procurement/supplies function
CIPS qualified to diploma level 4 or working towards this goal.
