A large award-winning regional Architectural Practice is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, well-organised and committed Architectural Technologist to join their team in their new studio space in Leeds City centre. The practice have recently re-located their Yorkshire studio from their traditional location in Harrogate to a superb new flexible working space overlooking Park Square which comes with the added benefit of hybrid working and various well-being perks.

The successful Architectural Technologist will assist in the continued growth and profitability of the Practice who employ 60+ staff across five national offices. The team and practice have been accredited to an Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard, rated as the second-highest scoring architecture practice on the IIP international database. They pride themselves on their commitment to Sustainability and Health and Wellbeing, both in design and creating a healthy environment within which to work.

They also have a truly varied and diverse portfolio of project work that is both challenging and design focussed, typically our client are known historically for their work in the Education sector, more recently they have successfully diversified into Commercial & Industrial, Healthcare, Leisure & Arts, Residential and Sports / recreational spaces. This cross sector portfolio ensures they can offer a very robust portfolio of work spread across various sectors, they are well positioned to remain busy through any future potential downturns in construction demand, on offer here is a sound business model and financially stable company.

Role & Responsibilities of the Architectural Technologist

Management of the day-to-day technical delivery of projects, working in collaboration with the team. You must therefore be able to demonstrate strong capabilities across RIBA stages 4-7
Production of planning and construction drawing packages – drawings, schedules, and specifications.
Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, local planning authorities and building control.
Coordinating work by external consultants and internally with the rest of the team.
Working within project teams and independently, where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experienced Architectural Technologist with circa 5-10 years experience within Architectural Practice.
Able to manage a small team and work on projects from inception to completion (RIBA stages 0-7)
Extensive experience in preparing planning and working drawing construction packages and good knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policy and quality standards.
Proven design capability, creativity and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and project management skills.
The majority of our projects are delivered in REVIT therefore knowledge and experience would be advantageous.

Salary depending on experience and negotiable for the right candidate is in the region of £33,000 – £40,000 per annum plus a very generous benefits package.
