Fabric Technician (30hrs per week)

Salary : £28000 – £32000/annum £ dependent upon experience
Exciting new opportunity for an experienced Fabric Technologist to join a leading manufacturer with an impressive portfolio of global brands.
Based within Head Office, reporting to the Head of Raw Materials, you will be part of friendly and supportive Team. Working across a wide range of fibres, fabrics and lingerie / swimwear componentry. It involves sourcing and development through to bulk production including warp knits, weft knits, laces, embroideries and prints.
The position offers a 30 hour working week.
Fabric Technologist – The Job Outline
* Full risk assessment of new materials and supply routes, working in conjunction with Design and external/internal supply chains, ensuring company quality, ethical and legal standards are maintained.
* Sourcing and developing new fabrics and componentry to meet Wacoal’s stringent standards.
* Maintain electronic product/colour and care label information within our internal platforms; PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), Company Portal, and ERP systems.
* Contribute to the Colour approval process (from sales samples through to bulk production).
* Provide technical support to the Wacoal manufacturing sites across multiple locations on Technical & QC issues.
* This role will require some travel including international to suppliers, manufacturers and trade shows.
Fabric Technologist – Core Skills & Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years experience as Fabric Technologist within the apparel industry.
* Able to demonstrate a good understanding of fabric processing including experience in fabric sourcing and development.
* Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills ensuring both internal and external relationships are handled in a professional manner.
* Good attention to detail and good analytical skills in the interpretation and presentation of data.
* Flexible approach with the ability to work as part of a team or independently with good use of initiative as required.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Efficient in MS Office; Word, Excel & Powerpoint
