Senior Design Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £40000 – £50000/annum
Randstad are recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer for a client based in Central Bristol. They are a rapidly growing company that specialises in manufacturing high pressure components and systems for a variety of industries.
The successful candidate will join the Design Team and will responsible for the Design and Product Development of the client's products.
Requirements
Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject
4 or more years relevant industry experience
Experience of mechanical design of complex components – hydraulics or valves would be a great advantage
Experience analysing mechanical stresses and displacements, using both numerical methods and FEA.
Experience with CAD and producing technical drawings
High levels of personal accountability and ownership, to effectively deliver on challenging and ambitious targets
Strong presentation (both of technical solutions and data) and reporting skills
Ability to focus on detail to fully understand issues and drive improvement
Technical leadership and mentoring skills
Understanding of Additive Manufacturing
Understanding of machining processes and their relevance in mechanical design
Understanding of CFD and its application for fluid analysis
Basic understanding of wider system technology including electronics, software and control and its impact on mechanical design
Experience working in the Automotive or Aerospace industries would be beneficialKey Responsibilities
Design of prototype and production products – both components and systems
Management of product manufacturing documentation, including CAD, drawings, bill of materials and AM build files
Finding and communicating with suppliers for prototype production
Providing design support throughout product manufacture, assembly and testing
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver world leading products
Providing technical direction relating to mechanical design on projects
Technical leadership and mentoring, supporting design engineers on larger projects
This is a full time permanent position that will be based at the office in Central Bristol and the production facility in Pucklechurch.
The position comes with a salary of £40,000-£50,000, a 9 day working fortnight and flexible hours.
