Salary- up to £30K per annum.
My client is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Communications and Marketing the Graphic Designer is responsible for producing visually compelling and innovative designs across various mediums. The role plays a crucial role in shaping the visual identity and brand presence, as well as supplier or member graphics. Collaborating with multifunctional teams within the individual is required to conceptualise, design, and execute visual materials that effectively communicate the desired message and engage the target audience.
Key responsibilities of the position:
Print materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and packaging
Digital graphics for websites, social media, online advertising, and email campaigns
Logo design and brand identity materials, ensuring consistent application of the brand guidelines
Presentation materials and multimedia assets (slides, infographics, videos, etc.)
Illustrations, icons, and other custom graphics as required
Animations
Conceptualisation: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, target audience, and marketing objectives. Generate creative design concepts and present for review and feedback
Visual Branding: Work closely with the marketing team and Own Brand Trading Controllers to maintain and enhance the own label visual identity. Ensure design elements are aligned with the brand guidelines and effectively communicate the brand message
Software Proficiency: Utilize various graphic design software tools and technologies, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, or other relevant software, to create high-quality designs
Image Editing and Manipulation: Edit and enhance photographs and other visual elements to create visually appealing and professional-looking designs
Market Research: Stay up to date with design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve and innovate design processes
Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines and project requirements
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, trading, finance and IT, web developers, to deliver integrated and cohesive design solutions
Feedback Incorporation: Receive feedback from suppliers or team members and incorporate necessary changes to improve the quality of designs
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on final designs to ensure accuracy and consistency before the materials are published or printed
Main Responsibilities:
Focus on Leaflets
URP and UWP graphics for social media
Own Brand Retail branding development
Rebranding or Brand development projects
Day to day artwork edits eg. Powerpoint templates
Animations for social media or digital platforms
Event Graphics & Themes
Target transferring printed brochure design to in house where viable with clear demonstration of savings
Skills/Competencies:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field
Proven experience and a strong portfolio showcasing diverse graphic design projects
Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite
Solid understanding of design principles, layout, colour theory, typography, and branding
Knowledge of digital design trends and best practices for web and social media
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate and present design concepts
Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
Creativity, originality, and the ability to think outside the box
Adaptability to changing project requirements and design briefs
Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design is a plus
