Design Engineer

Salary : £28000 – £30000/annum excellent benefits package
Design Engineer, Exeter, salary £28K-£30K DOE, plus benefits Full Time, Permanent based on the outskirts of Exeter (just off the M5). This will be working Monday to Friday 8am – 430pm.
Due to exciting growth, Wise Employment are seeking an experienced Design Engineer for one of our fast growing clients. This role will see you responsible for supporting the design and specification of new products within the Fuel, Electric Heating and Gas ranges of the business as well as any modifications of current products required.
You will be part of a fundamental team that help to ensure new products successfully achieve their launch dates.

Design Engineer duties required:
Ensure that drawn specifications allow products to fit together on the production line, taking into consideration appropriate material specification production tolerances
You will work closely with the development, production engineering and design teams to take a new product design brief from concept through to creating accurate and detailed engineers’ s manufacturing drawings.
You will be required to complete new product progress feedback and sign off sheets and keep these up to date showing any new developments
You will ensure spreadsheets of product costings are kept up to date so production engineers can utilise these
By using all elements of Solid Edge, extensive range of designs will be created, such as; cast iron, steel, stone, glass and ceramic. As these materials are used to create decorative parts of products at times, you will produce drawings of these components too.
Key Skills required for a Design Engineer:
A strong new product design background is essential
Recent experience of working with Solid Edge
A Design Engineering background with a strong technical knowledge is required
A knowledge of the heating product industry would be beneficial
Be able to set standards and procedures and have good organisational skills
