Nine Twenty are continually supporting our Packaging & Print Manufacturing client in their need for a Packaging Designer to join their team permanently.
You role will involve detailed customer interaction, project management, collaboration with different teams, emphasis on process improvement, cost analysis, and a proactive engagement with packaging trends and materials. By excelling in these areas, you will contribute significantly to the successful execution of projects and the overall growth and improvement of the organisation's packaging processes.
Your role will encompass effective management and improvement of projects within the realm of packaging and design.
Responsibilities:

Understanding Customer Requirements:
* Gather insights from both written and verbal customer briefs.
* Scrutinize customer requirements and ask probing questions to ensure a thorough understanding.
* Organise and compile information for review and sharing among relevant stakeholders.
*
Collaboration with Sales and Design:
* Collaborate closely with the broader sales and design teams.
* Utilise systems and the development process to manage projects effectively.
* Gain a comprehensive grasp of project structures, layouts, and artwork requirements.
* Generate graphic files that can be used for output on concepts and samples.

Project Management:
* Take charge of multiple projects from from conception to approval
* Provide regular updates to the sales team and customers as required.
* Create specifications for external suppliers and the internal production department.
* Deliver clear briefs to the production department for approved projects, especially those involving complex designs.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
* Engage in a continuous improvement mindset.
* Collaborate with various departments such as the design team, machine department, and production department.
* Identify opportunities for enhanced material and process efficiencies.

Pricing and Cost Management:
* Gather and update information essential for pricing.
* Collect data on material costs and external supplier costs, including processes like foiling and printing.
Experience required:
* You will come with a Degree or HNC/HND Qualification in Graphic Design
* You will come with experience from Printing/Packaging industry
* You will have the ability to manage multiple projects and stage gate processes
* You will have the ability to liaise with mutiple stakeholders internally & externally
* You will come with a continuous improvement driven mindset
