We are excited to be working with a multi-award-winning UK-based Independent Games Studio, which is on the lookout for a Concept Artist to join their team as they continue to scale.
The studio has a strong track record of producing high-quality games across multiple platforms, with a focus on creating innovative and engaging gameplay experiences.
We are now looking for a skilled Concept Artist that is ready to make their impact across several projects to join their team. In this job, you'll collaborate with the development team to create and visually visualise new game characters, locations, landscapes, props, and vehicle assets, contributing to the game's overall identity, mood, and ambiance.
Role / Responsibilities:
Conduct research and find appropriate reference resources to support the briefs supplied.
Create initial mood boards, thumbnail ideas, and final production art asset concepts using both traditional materials and digital tools.
Drive and support the aesthetic vision for projects at each step of development, such as Characters, Environments, and Vehicles.
Create high-quality digital materials and artwork suited for game creation and use, both technically and artistically.
Ensure that assets satisfy the criteria specified by each department.
Ensure quality control by ensuring that your thoughts are stated and followed by the team, and that there is a clear consistency with the creative vision of the project.
Coordinate work assignment and scheduling with production.
Take part in brainstorming sessions and multidisciplinary workshops.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a concept artist in the gaming industry or a related subject.
Experience in digital art production with a thorough understanding of digital art creation and editing technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Character and environment modelling experience is ideal.
A fine arts background is considerable benefit.
It is advantageous to be able to illustrate the principles of art and visual design, such as composition and colour theory.
