Graphic Designer
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer on behalf of our client based on the outskirts of Shropshire, due to company growth.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Graphic Design, as well as 2+ years’ experience in a similar role. You must be Conservant with the Adobe design software package including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Acrobat.
You will also have preferably designed emailers in an emailer-builder sending system such as Mailchimp or Moosend. 3D design software knowledge and web design experience would be a bonus but is not essential to the role.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategise with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
Develop concepts by hand or with software and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of colour, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
Keeping a client up to date about project progress and applying client recommendations.
Ensuring that a design project remains within scope, time, and budget.
Keeping up to date with design and multimedia trends and the latest developments in software tools.
Liaising with external parties, such as printers and stand builders, to ensure that a project runs smoothly, and a client’s expectations are met.
Presenting final design concepts, including specifications for fonts, images, colours, text, and layout, to clients for their approval.
Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials, based on best practices for using production planning and content management systems.
Skills and qualifications:
Two or more years’ experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency
Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills to devise original and exciting visual concepts.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment, as they often work on multiple projects concurrently.
Solid knowledge of media production and communication.
The ability to adapt, including shaping their ideas to meet a client’s vision.
Solid knowledge of design software, such as Illustrator and InDesign, and photo-editing packages, such as Photoshop.
Excellent teamworking skills to effectively collaborate with other creatives.
An understanding of the application of design across various digital and social platforms.
Desire to continue building skill set with education and training.
Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design
Fully conversant with Adobe design software including InDesign, Photoshop, illustrator PowerPoint and Acrobat
Knowledge of WordPress, 3D Design software, emailer sending platforms and workflow management systems would be beneficial.
Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software.
Exceptional creativity and innovation.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment.
