Job Title: Event Designer – Production
Department: Creative Services Team (EPS)
Responsible to: Head of Creative Services
Hours: 40 over a 5-day week Monday to Friday, on occasion 5 days out of 7 Monday to Sunday for specific projects and/or client meetings
Location: Reading / Wimbledon & hybrid home working

This role is fixed term for 9-12 months to cover maternity leave. This role also has the potential to be made permanent and will be reviewed in 2024 dependent on the growth of the company.

The Role Summary.
The Event Designer role is an integral part of the Creative Services team. The role will be to develop creative event responses and scenic designs for the wide range of event markets we service. You will be responsible for dealing directly with customers and supporting the wider internal team with creative event solutions. Communication will be key including the visual communication of ideas via drawings, plans, mood boards etc. This role will require a strong understanding and experience of event production, scenic design, theming, and print.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

* Liaison with clients and internal teams through all means of communication, face to face, via telephone, video, or written comms etc.

* Attend meetings, pitches, site visits etc.

* Obtain an understanding of the client’s needs, aspirations, and requirements (the brief) and create a positive rapport and trust with them.

* Translate the brief into an event design with a commercial understanding. Events will come in the form of, parties, conferences, launches, dinners, and exhibition stands.

* Communication of ideas via Sketch-Up drawings and mood boards internally and externally.

* Having a solid understanding of event scenic solutions and being able to design with integrated technical and print offerings.

* Have a good understanding of print & design and the ability to create basic artwork.

* Ensure that the event delivery team are supported and has all the information needed for a successful event.

* Work as part of the more comprehensive Event Production Services department as part of a supportive team of professionals.

Technical Skills.

* Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access applications and PowerPoint).

* Working knowledge of an internal e-mail system and electronic diary is essential.

* Skills in Sketchup, Adobe and other drawing software.

* Previous knowledge of event equipment and working on events.

* Previous experience in a fast-paced administrative role.
