Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with SEN. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Your patience, empathy, and commitment to helping students overcome obstacles will make a significant impact on their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Support students with a range of needs, including but not limited to, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate student's individual learning styles.
Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or a related field.
Experience working with students with SEN is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
