Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for an experienced Director of City Design Coordination to support the NEOM The Line project on a permanent basis in KSA.

Position: Director of City Design Coordination
This role is pivotal within NEOM The LINE's City Design Coordination team, responsible for overseeing the integration of all city design activities. Reporting to the Executive Director of City Design Integration, this position ensures that all design components-architecture, public spaces, infrastructure, and technical floors-are seamlessly aligned to create a functional and cohesive city.

Responsibilities

Design Coordination Leadership: Lead coordination efforts across teams, including Urban Realm, Neighborhood Design, Infrastructure Engineering, and consultants working on critical city assets.
Integration Management: Ensure all design components-public realm, technical spaces, and infrastructure-align with the project's vision and quality standards.
Central Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact between various design teams and consultants, ensuring collaboration and conflict resolution.
Vision Alignment: Uphold design coherence with NEOM's sustainability, innovation, and high-quality urban living standards.
Project Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and quality control, maintaining high standards of excellence.
Strategic Input: Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategy, design direction, and integration planning across development phases.
City Asset Design Management: Work with the Design Management team to integrate critical infrastructure into the urban design framework.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with senior leadership, internal teams, and external consultants to address complex design challenges.
Team Development: Mentor and guide team members, fostering an innovative and results-driven environment.

Requirements

Extensive experience (25+ years) in architecture, urban planning, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading large-scale urban projects.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
In-depth understanding of urban design, infrastructure integration, and public realm design.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex project timelines and design teams.
Ability to translate visionary goals into practical and cohesive design solutions.
Familiarity with sustainable urban design practices and innovative technology integration.
Collaborative mindset and strong relationship-building capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.
