Job Summary:

As a Realtime Artist utilising Unreal Engine, you will be working directly with the design team to realise concepts from creation to their conclusion. The Realtime Artist is responsible for creating and optimising assets to work within a cohesive scene in Unreal Engine, which will be used in highly competitive pitches. The Realtime Artist will be able to balance the aesthetics and technical requirements of assets within the engine. They will be tasked with creating fantastic and immersive scenes, quickly realising ideas/concepts/designs to generate cinematic quality content that matches and excels the current standard within the industry.

Realtime Artists will work within the visualisation team, and under the guidance and direction of our talented in-house designers, Head of Design and Creative Director.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Collaboratively creating 3D environments and level art by assisting internal teams in development of concepts.
Creating art in as realistic manner, striving for photorealism.
Effectively composing lighting and set dressing to create believable spaces.
Taking ownership of a project from conception through to completion, until approved for submission.
Working collaboratively and independently with other Realtime Artists in the team, Designers, Head of Design and the Creative Director.
Contributing to developing studio work practices, improving team pipelines, workflows and developing the latest technologies to set our work apart from the crowd.
Asset creation and optimisation for real-time rendering.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Previous experience utilising Unreal Engine in a professional environment, or alternatively an exceptional portfolio showcasing a range of realistic interior scenes.
A fundamental understanding of Unreal Engine that ensures the artist can create scenes from scratch, without relying on software such as Datasmith.
Knowledge of optimised modelling, texturing, shading and lighting to create varied outputs, ranging from Still images, through to fully realised VR environments.
Understanding of the cinematic sequencer and blueprint editor.
Expertise in Maya and/or 3ds Max.
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop.
Ability to prioritise and execute ideas within a time schedule, and a proven ability to manage a scope of work to meet deadlines.
High level of creativity and independence with little oversight.
Will to take on challenges requiring personal development.
Ability to provide clear and consistent feedback, communicate progress and scheduling suggestions.

Advantages:

Evidence of content created for VR using Oculus Rift or Vive.
Evidence of content created for AR using Microsoft Hololens.
Knowledge of Substance Suite (Painter, Designer and/or Alchemist)
Knowledge of Quixel Mixer and Quixel Bridge.
Extended knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including and not limited to Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator and Mixamo.
Knowledge of Mel and/or Python.
Familiarity with traditional CGI production.
Knowledge of layout, shot composition and photography.
