Die and Cyrel Operator
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £28000/annum
My client is a is one of the major companies in the printing market in Europe. They produce books and printed documents for major publishing houses, large industrial groups and service companies, and administrative bodies. They are looking for somebody to join their business as a Die and Cyrel plates manufacturer.
Die Manufacturing duties:
To make emboss/foiling dies based on work instruction
Complete Quality Check list
Complete daily docket
Size, cut and expose film and magnesium plate to required foil/embossed area
Develop, wash and etch magnesium plate in acid bath and coating remover
(Hazardous chemicals, handle with care)
Cut dies and remove sharp edges where necessary
Wrap and label dies using White Quill Die labels
Maintain machine efficiency and cleanliness and report any repairs
Cyrel manufacturing duties:
To make Cyrel plates based on work instruction
Complete Quality Check list
Complete daily docket
Cut and expose film and Cyrel plate to required size Heidelberg/Top Spot Develop, harden and trim Cyrel plate to final size.
Store in folder and label with Job information and machine
Spines and scanning duties:
To plan and Output customer die artwork to film. Size, cut and expose film to magnesium plate
Develop, wash and etch magnesium plate in acid bath and coating remover (Hazardous chemicals, handle with care)
Check dies for marks and quality, cut dies and remove sharp edges where necessary Wrap and label dies using correct destination labels provided (Antony Rowe, Mackays or William Clowes). Indicating Job title, number, date made and operator initials Scan, edit or retouch printed sheets to customer's needs and requirements
To create print ready PDF's from application files, including correcting any customer errors and changing files to be suitable for print, colour retouch, set up correct finishes ensuring perfect fit and content
