UX Consultant

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £35000 – £50000/annum

A successful Edinburgh consultancy is looking for a Senior UX Consultant to join their growing team. The majority of the projects at the consultancy have historically been full end-to-end projects, from ideation to research, design, development and delivery. It's an exciting time for them as although they're continuing to do this, they're now taking on stand-alone projects for design, user research, accessibility and more. This obviously means that you'll be able to get stuck into a diverse number of projects which is super exciting!

About the role:

The role itself is going to be a proper UX role. You might dabble into some low-fidelity wireframing but that's probably the closest you'll get to hands-on design work. The role will be much more focused on User Research, analysis of this research and the creation of Journey Maps and User Personas.

About you:

You'll need to be very experienced within research and have experience of deciding which research is needed for certain projects, experienced in creating Research Plans, conducting different types of research, all the way through to conducting User Testing, Content Audits and having decent knowledge of Information Architecture.

From the information provided, you'll probably realise that they're looking for someone experienced to come in and ideally someone that been working at senior level! They need someone that can come in and hit the ground running, and really make the role their own.

About the team:

You'll be joining a small design team made up of a UX Lead, Accessibility Lead and another UX'er, which means that you'll have a lot of influence and be able to put your own stamp on things. As mentioned, the projects for this team are increasing all the time and it's likely that the team will grow again within a year of being there. As mentioned, you'll be able to bring a lot to the role, but you'll still collaborate with your design team and also the larger technical team.

Location & package:

The company is HQ'd in Edinburgh, but they can support fully remote working. The team is based throughout the UK, so everyone is already set up to be remote and most people are still working remotely. The office is there for anyone that wants to use it though! When things are completely back to normal, there will be some obligation to go the office or go on client visits as we all know some parts of research work better in person.

The salary for the role is up to £50,000 but there might be some flexibility with this. They do have a good package that comes along with this as well which includes private healthcare, investment in your personal and learning development, bonus schemes and much more!

If you're an experienced UX'er that is keen to work for a company that is growing this function within the company, then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Associates
