Junior to Mid-Weight Creative Designer, Leighton Buzzard

Our client based in Leighton Buzzard is recruiting for a Creative Designer

They have an amazing team who produces creatively packaged luxury chocolates and gourmet sweets for promotional campaigns, events, staff initiatives, gifts and product launches.

They are looking for a passionate, driven and hands-on creative who can confidently bring new ideas to the table and create exciting visual designs to promote their products.

You’ll be supporting the sales and marketing department with seasonal campaigns across all marketing touchpoints and websites, offline and online. It will be up to you to create strong, compelling visual content to connect and engage with their customers at events, on the web, in print, via email and through their product designs.

Working hours: Monday to Friday

Salary range (depending on experience): £23,000 – £25,000

Role Responsibilities:

As our Creative Designer, you’ll be responsible for:

Designing seasonal and event-based campaigns from concept to execution

Creating exciting e-marketing designs to boost campaign engagement

Creating stand-out web banner designs to support campaigns

Applying campaign designs to the product range (and digitally superimpose)

Photographing products, and editing/organising images for organisational use

Ensuring all products are uploaded, edited and optimised on our WordPress website

Creating and managing email marketing campaigns on Campaign Monitor

Creating brochure designs and event literature

Designing print campaigns and advert layouts

Contributing to product/packaging development with creative input

Skills & Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

A great eye for design and structured layout design

A background in visual design and communication

Excellent Photoshop and Illustrator skills (including knowledge of shortcuts)

The ability to work with Adobe pen tool and arrow tools fast with all the shortcuts

A working knowledge of both CMYK and RGB (print vs digital)

Experience working in both pixels and vector, and how to use smart objects

A good understanding of print and screen resolutions, including retina resolution

Confidence in using a camera (Canon, preferably)

The skill to retouch photos fast and efficiently (healing, cloning, adjustments, etc.)

An understanding of how to upload content to WordPress and add to the media library

Confidence, creativity and a willingness to adapt, learn and support the team with hands-on support

The ability to self-start and push forward with campaigns independently

A passion for keeping up to date on the latest trends in design and visual marketing
