Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary : £40000 – £45000/annum
Carbon60 are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an engineering company based in Bedford.
You will ideally come from a Pump, turbine, compressor or rotating equipment design background.
Principal duties performed in collaboration with other Lead Design Engineers, Principle Engineer and Operations Manager consist of, but are not limited to;
Preparation of new conceptual designs, design modifications, reports, and new product proposals to require development of drawings, models and hydraulic designs from in-house CAD software including FEA and CFD.
Manufacturing support providing technical assistance to workshop and manufacturing suppliers to assist in achieving specified design requirements and resolution of conflicts that may arise.
Work closely with test personnel in design of pump system layouts and determination of electrical and hydraulic pump test requirements including the interpretation of test results.Person specification:
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles associated with the design, analysis, and operation of centrifugal pumps.
Possess strong Solidworks 3D CAD skills including the use of PDM.
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications
