The Role:
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to buying and design colleagues across Denim and Outerwear to ensure our quality strategy is implemented and delivered.
* Manage the fit and seal process from development through to bulk shipment, ensuring comments are understood and actioned by suppliers.
* Shared accountability for meeting Product Team KPI’s.
* Working as part of a Product Team, create specifications and standards to ensure right first-time sampling, engineering product as required to deliver margin benefits.
* Conduct and manage fit sessions with buying/design as required
* Complete and communicate fit/construction comments to suppliers, ensuring these are delivered according to the departmental critical path.
* Take ownership of departmental returns, analysing reports on a weekly basis and ensure any learnings are incorporated into ongoing product development and that appropriate action is taken on high returning lines, to protect underlying departmental profitability.
* Provide day to day support to the Senior Product Technologist, deputising as required.
* Ability to make commercial decisions which support the profit line, but not at the detriment of the brand or the customer experience.
Skills Required:
* Experience in a similar role is crucial with a proven ability in the Homewares category, soft and hardlines
* Confident knowledge of manufacturing processes across a broad range of product types and the appropriate legislative standards applicable to UK/EU/US markets
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
