DEPUTY EDITOR

Mark Allen is a collaborative company and we are recruiting for a Deputy Editor to join our welcoming Dartford team. This is a hybrid role that comes with a favourable salary of up to £25,000 plus some excellent benefits.

You will be joining the MA Business team on the prestigious RCI title (roofing, cladding, and insulation) title where you will have the opportunity to be one of the faces of this market-leading brand.

We are working to a flexible/hybrid model, 3 days at home and a (min) 2 days in the office.

To give you an idea of how this Deputy Editor role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

* Writing and editing feature articles for the magazine, website, and social media profiles.

* Proof-reading copy

* Good understanding of social media.

* Well organised and works well under pressure.

* Experience with Adobe Indesign is desirable.

* Maintaining relationships with clients and readers and representing MA Business at events (conferences and exhibitions)

* Supporting the deputy editor and liaising with the wider team and senior management

* High-quality editorial skills including interviewing, fact-checking, the ability to write clear, engaging copy that needs little editing, copy editing, proofreading and a good design sense

* A strong ability to build and manage contacts

* Solid investigative skills

* Development focus: someone who loves learning and finding out new ways of delivering high-quality content

* At least a years’ experience in a similar role
