Techniche Global are working closely with a Luxury Yacht manufacturer in Oundle. We are supporting them with growing their Design House as they embark upon developing their next generation of Luxury Motor Yachts and Sports Craft,
We have an excellent opportunity for a Joinery Designer to enter the Marine sector. A background in any form of Carpentry, joinery or woodwork Design will be considered at all levels.
There are multiple vacancies within the Design Studio with some focussing on new designs with others working on customisations to existing craft to customers bespoke specifications.
Essential Experience:
* Prior joinery/cabinet experience.
* Able to work with 3D CAD software -Siemens NX or equivalent software.
* Excellent communication skills.
Role responsibilities:
* Working within the design team delivering multiple upcoming new products.
* Working with a team of designers / naval architects to help optimize the overall design for build efficiency.
* Be able to produce joinery drawings to required production/CNC level, from detailed assemblies, installation drawings, and through to component parts.
* Have a clear understanding of materials and design standards.
* Have a general understanding of marine systems used throughout yachts.
* The ability to work on multiple projects.
* Occasional travel between design and manufacturing sites will be required.
* Communicate directly with the design team to ensure the intent is suitable for manufacture.
* Liaise with the Production team and other departments within the business.
* Ensure that the product complies with all relevant Codes and Classifications.
* To be able to think logically and provide solutions to problems when required
