MERCHANDISER – CLOTHING TEAM
Our client is a well-established, design-led business that supplies clothing, interiors and beauty products to major high street retailers and supermarkets. They are looking to recruit an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their Clothing Team based in Bradford.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Principal point of contact for customers and factories regarding delivery, approval, costings and production issues
Responsible for the development process including the setting up of development trackers, liaising with suppliers to order stock and driving sampling and costings.
Overseeing the preparation of the development order packs complete with all design CADs and updated workbooks to send to the factories.
Check and sign-off Purchase Orders
Liaise between customers, suppliers and relevant internal departments including the shipping department to ensure all aspects of the critical path are actioned from point of development to shipment date.
Liaise with suppliers to agree production plan dates and ensure the factories are working to these dates and adding these into the critical path.
Responsible for delegation of work and overseeing the output of direct report(s).
Escalate any issues and concerns with the factory/customer for live orders to the Account Manager; particularly where there are requests for extensions from the factory and cost price increases from the factory or customer.
Responsible for ensuring that all workbooks have update packaging detail and manage the packaging approval process.
Attend customer meetings with the Account Manager as required to understand customer requirements and consolidate relationships with customers
Attend critical path meetings with factories (if required) and customers to understand customer requirements and build relationships.
Update and maintain merchandise tools e.g. SAP and Summary Sheets. Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Ideally you will be fully competent with in-house SAP systems and relevant customer systems with experience of using Critical Path and related tools. Strong negotiation, influencing, communication and networking skills are also required, as is excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to use initiative, respond quickly to change and cope well under pressure.
Proven experience as an Import Merchandiser for a Supplier is essential, as is commercial awareness and strong IT skills, particularly with Excel. Relevant product knowledge and experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Flexible working environment, based in the office 2 – 3 days weekly along with working from home.
