The working pattern could be hybrid, but ideally 2 days in the office per week as a minimum, to ensure everyone is working effectively as a creative team.

We are delighted to be looking for a Senior Designer to join our client who is an energetic design consultancy with a successful 36-year history, with an international healthcare bias, with customers based in the USA and Europe. Due to expansion, they are looking for a Senior Designer to join their busy team.

Job Description

The Senior Designer will undertake the following day to day duties:

Discussing, and understanding, project requirements.

Interpreting a client’s brief using a mix of design expertise, commercial awareness, and as directed by others.

Bringing the brand story to life through with intelligent, impactful design ideas and visualisations.

Assisting the design teams ideas, providing them with creative input to improve their work and essentially make sure all design is implemented with accuracy.

Scamping ideas for internal and external purposes across layouts, user experiences, prototypes, and design storyboards that bring the user experience and subject matter to life, based on user insights.

Developing visual solutions that have impact, are on-brand, and consistent.

Working with the wider team to brainstorm design ideas, user experiences, and interactive touch points.

Presenting and substantiating creative and design decisions of the design team to internal teams and clients.

Developing and overseeing the design assets for larger design projects ensuring the agency’s high standards are maintained.

Establishing clear communication hierarchies that convey the key message(s) to the user.

Selecting, editing, and framing imagery across print, digital, interface and some motion design.

Designing and overseeing the development of all branding elements including styling, typography iconography, technical illustrations, charts, etc.

Key Responsibility

Creating high quality designs that support the agency’s promise of ‘complex messages made simple’.

Supporting the team in delivering impactful, innovative a creative graphic and digital design.

Prioritising projects, design tasks of your own and others to ensure projects meet customer needs and deadlines.

Bringing the communication narrative to life, using intelligent layouts, skilled typography, and dynamic imagery across user experiences, prototypes, motion storyboards and more.

Attending internal briefings, brainstorming sessions, and client sessions to establish the key objectives, and steer the design solution in the right direction to meet the agency’s commercial goals.

Presenting design thinking and executions internally and at client presentations.

Selecting and commissioning illustrators, photographers, voice artists, and animators.

Amending design and creative work according to internal review, what delivers the best outcome, and client feedback.

Communicating with clients to meet their needs and keep projects on track, profitable and on budget.

Mentoring and developing the design and production teams skills.

The Senior Designer will have the following desired skills and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in design or a related field is required.

8-12 years’ experience in the design industry.

A strong portfolio to showcase your creativity, design craft and sector knowledge.

An interest and experience in healthcare communications.

Excellent knowledge of design techniques for print, digital, interface and motion design.

Significant experience in leading a small design team in a fast-paced environment.

High levels of expertise in Adobe CC, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, PowerPoint, Outlook, (XD, Figma, After Effects, Premier Pro an advantage.)

Strong design craft and layout skills, a passion for typography and impeccable attention to detail.

Excels in managing multiple project deliverables and delivering to tight deadlines.

Maintaining a desire to understand the clients’ business and the issues they face.
