Role: Materials Production Vacation worker
Contract length: 12 weeks and 6 weeks
Start date: Must be available June 2022 – September 2022
Location: Bracknell UK
Salary: £9.50 p/h

This is a great opportunity to work within a leading science-based agtech company over the summer. You will be part of a team conduction field work and playing a pivotal role in producing and maintaining materials for the research teams.
The Role:
Carry out day-to-day production and maintenance of plants to a standard that meets customers' requirements using submitted protocols. Highlight problems promptly.
Maintain and harvest seed bulks and catalogue seed stocks in storage.
Working independently and as part of a team, carry out experimental work for herbicide screening to a high standard using established procedures. This will include selection of plants for spray, spraying plants and disposal of plants.
Maintain plants under glasshouse conditions for the duration of the test.
Work flexibly with Screening operations colleagues to ensure that project needs are met and that the work plans developed by the team manager or supervisor are carried out to a high standard in a timely fashion.
Develop technical knowledge and skills through experience of a wide range of production techniques.
Identify areas for improvements in efficiency and contribute to problem solving in consultation with other team members and the supervisor.
Contribute to safety performance by maintaining a clean and safe personal working environment. Comply with all safety procedures and HSE regulations.Requirements:
Well demonstrated practical laboratory skills are favourable. Both manual dexterity and good observational skills are required
Ability to work well within a variety of team environments and communicate effectively with a range of colleagues
Some IT skills for data handling
Good self organisational skills
A demonstrated ability for attention to detail and ability to work consistently to required standards will be necessary
