Salary: £18,171.30 basic per annum on appointment. £19,216.30 after 12 months.
Contract: Full time, 12-month apprenticeship with potential to become a permanent role.

About the role
A fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturing company who thrives on developing its people. We are looking for an Apprentice Designer to work as part of our on-site design team. Full training will be provided to the successful candidates.
Support and Training will be provided to achieve all below tasks and responsibilities over time within your role.
Main responsibilities
To work as part of the team within the North West Design Department to service and support our customers on all Design and technical related topics. The core function being to process enquiries passed to the design department from our external sales teams. This requires close collaboration with both the external sales team and production to meet both the customers and our own manufacturing capabilities. To achieve this, you will be given full in-house training and support on all software and hardware used. The department have KPI's which include a 48 hour turn around on all enquiries – so the need to work under pressure and at speed is essential.
Specific Tasks: (this list is not exhaustive)
• Generating prototype samples for customer approval
• Dispatching prototype samples daily via courier service
• Producing digital mock ups
• Board stock management
• Daily / weekly maintenance of digital print and sample table
• Interpreting and Processing enquires from Sales team
• Basic/intermediate use of GPT – in-house business system
• Basic/intermediate use of CAD – bespoke software for corrugated industry
• Basic/intermediate use of Adobe Illustrator
• Basic/intermediate use of CAPE – bespoke palletisation software
• Basic/intermediate use of BCT testing equipment
• Basic/intermediate Board grade analysis
• Liaise with Production to discuss design related problems / gain approval.
• General office duties
• Participation in creative problem-solving sessions and customer meetings when required
• Participation in training programmes to drive self-development
• Application of Group and local policies and procedures
What we need from you
Qualifications / Experience / Training
• The ideal candidate will possess some form of design knowledge however this is not essential as full training will be provided via an apprenticeship.
• Min of 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths, English, Science, IT and a language
• A commitment and desire to work within the manufacturing industry
• Have good attention to detail and can demonstrate problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Can work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
