Mechanical Design Engineer – Material Handling – £35,000-£40,000
Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a manufacturer of advanced material handling equipment, including conveyor systems and bespoke special purpose machinery, based in North-East Durham.
The successful Design Engineer will have previous experience using 3D Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and / or FEA techniques and will have previous experience designing equipment such as; conveyor systems, material handling, automation, robotics, process plant or similar.
The Role:
Responsible for all your own designs throughout of the project delivery
Attend internal / external design reviews.
Liaise with sales / production and operations to ensure cost-effective and design for manufacture.
Create 3D models / generation of detailed design (assembly's & components)
Carry out calculations, FMEA, manuals, risk assessments.
Requirements:
Sound mechanical design knowledge.
Minimum of 6 years' experience working with conveyors from both a hands-on and a design role.
Strong mechanical skills, with additional knowledge of electrical switches and motors
Previous experience with Autodesk inventor, AutoCAD.
