Job Type : Contract, Full Time

Salary : £350 – £400/day

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Graphic and Motion Design Manager for an initial 6 month contract – with the potential to extend – on a rate of c.£350-£400/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based with the possibility of hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

Create dynamic, innovative and engaging 2D and 3D graphic content for use across all social media channels
Work alongside news and marketing colleagues to originate and produce accurate, engaging digital assets that support the organisation’s strategic priorities; including motion graphics, infographics, animations, and GIFs
Bring valuable creative contributions to a team which originates and collates innovative visual content for websites and social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, advising on industry developments and best practice
Work with others in the Social Content Hub to monitor digital, video and social media activity, applying insight and evaluation to underpin continuous improvement of future communications activity
Provide wider post-production assistance to the team as required
Interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this into your work
Support the quality of design delivery across the output of the Social Content Hub
Archive assets as they are created in a way that allows re-use or re-purposing for different circumstances
Use layout, spacing, colour, type and iconography to ensure that content is legible for users and be instrumental in ensuring that the output of the visual content team meets accessibility standards.
Essential Skills:

Proven experience in graphic design, motion graphics and typography
Expert understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects
Good judgement to inform appropriate use of graphics, alongside the ability to prioritise under pressure.
Strong track record of developing designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes. 

Desirable Skills:

Previous experience of working on public sector communications or campaigns.
