An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Product Engineer for a company whose mission is to become a trusted and loved seasoning brand with more than 100 years of heritage. In support of this, they are seeking a Product Engineer to bring creative ideas to life and continue the work of this loved brand. The role is based in Farnborough and you need the flexibility to work from home on occasion.

About the role
As Product Engineer, your responsibilities will be to:
Develop technical solutions to design, innovate and patent
Propose ideas to the Product Designer to integrate into designs
Ensure projects are conducted in order to establish best value return on investment
Work closely with the Product Designer, understand their ideas and creativity to innovate products and add value
Work with materials including plastic, metal (stamped or moulded) and different types of wood as part of industrial processes
Work in collaboration with the Global Head of PM and NPD and Product Managers on projects, managing the process throughout
Build strong relationships with the various suppliers, establishing a schedule, defining costs, helping to draw up product specifications, ensuring where possible a cost-optimised design
Be responsible for comparative analysis with existing products and solutions on the market, monitoring of materials, competition, and patent
Ensuring high standards of quality
Ongoing product improvement and analysis
Lead prototyping activities and testing ergonomics and assemblies
Ensure projects are in line with UK and International legislations
About you
The knowledge and skills required for the role of Product Engineer are:
Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years, ideally in a similar sector.
BA/BSc Product Engineering (or similar)
Knowledge of the industry, product development and trends.
Microsoft Office proficient.
Experience with Solidworks (3D modelling software)
Ability to test products to understand end user experience in order to adapt and improve them.
A great ambassador for the company
Excellent communicator, able to work collaboratively in a team
About the hours & rewards
For the role of Product Engineer there is a salary on offer of £32,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
