An award-winning Architectural practice based in Camden, London are looking for a talented Senior Architect to join its progressive and pragmatic architectural studio.

The AJ100 studio have been involved a wide range of projects in the UK and internationally including mixed-use, housing, workplace, education, community & culture. Using a collaborative design approach to inspire creativity , learning and fun in the workplace. The team is extremely enthusiastic and driven, and thrive in the fast paced, ambitious and friendly environment, with annual trips, multiple socials throughout the year and networking.

Due to growth they are looking to expand their skilled team by adding a Senior Architect on a permanent basis. The successful Senior Architect will be managing medium-size projects with minimal supervision as well as various smaller projects. Working directly with the Project Director and project team you will be involved in all stages of projects.

You will have an understanding of the design process and ability to manage/deliver this from concept to completion with a flexible and openness of approach. A willingness to work as a team player is essential along with a broad knowledge and understanding of UK Building Systems & Regulations.

Responsibilities:

Manage medium-large sized projects with minimal Director supervision; manage numerous small project.
Manage the coordination of the internal and external design teams and juniors for your projects
Prepare and develop drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design and in accordance with the ARB Code of Practice
Manage the co-ordination of the internal design team
Liaise with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies
Thorough knowledge of and compliance with ACG procedures and standards
Seek, and record evidence of your continuing professional development (CPD) and an annual Personal Development Plan (PDP) in accordance with the requirements of the RIBA (or equivalent)
Planning and delivering client presentations
Winning, leading and overseeing multiple projects

Essential requirements

Minimum of 5-year's post RIBA Part 3 experience, working in a similar role

Ability to manage, co-ordinate and prioritise resources

Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion

Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project, with good working knowledge of CAD systems

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently

Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team, assisting and supporting team members

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, articulate and diplomatic manner

Excellent presentation and organisational skills

Highly presentable and professional manner, self-motivated

Understanding the financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget

Sociable, outgoing character with a good work ethic

Able to react to a fast-paced environment, good time management and attention to detail

Working knowledge of REVIT, SketchUP and Indesign, desirable. If you don't have experience with these software, a willingness to learn is essential.

A highly competitive salary and benefits package with FLEXABLE hours (including private health care and ARB fees, 25 days holiday per annum) would be on offer to the successful applicant, likely to be in the range of £42,000 – £52,000 per annum dependant on experience.
