A rapidly expanding, multi regional UK real estate developer have an opportunity for a Technical Coordinator to join their growing Yorkshire regional office in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The new Yorkshire regional office will cover cities from Derby to Ripon and coast to coast with a focus on its central Leeds base. Our client are a mixed-use developer but will primarily focus on residential development sites, they generally use traditional procurement methods but can appoint Design & Build Partners where appropriate. They have recently formed an in-house design function which is headed up by their Technical Manager, this Technical Coordinator hire will be the 2nd appointment within the team. The initial focus is on the design and technical delivery of a 260+ new build homes situated in a prominent site on the outskirts of the city centre, they have numerous other sites in the development pipeline and a great career opportunity awaits for the right candidate.

Main Responsibilities of the Technical Coordinator as follows –

Provide technical support to the development & Administration team to assist during feasibility studies.
Produce a detailed design programme which identifies key dates and a critical path.
Manage all consultants to ensure the flow of information is within the agreed timescales and in accordance with the programme.
Ensure all design information produced is issued to the relevant internal and external departments in accordance with, and on schedule with the programme.
Be aware of and act upon commercial implications relating to planning & architectural design.
Have the ability to technically engage with, and direct consultants responsible for the above.
Oversee and control planning applications to the Local Authority and deal with any other local committees, parish councils, etc.
Control the submission of Building Regulations and warranty applications.
Interact with internal departments, consultants, suppliers and sub-contractors as necessary in order to achieve Building Regulations and warranty approvals and satisfactory conditions discharge.
Provide sales team with drawingspecification information and support, to ensure that sales provide correct literature.
Co-ordinate Transfer Plans, Management Plans for Estate Sales Packs, liaising with Solicitors and Sales Department.
Tender for, set up and establish on site management companies using and implementing the group procedure.
Be responsible for the above and manage the process through to a satisfactory completion, i.e., adoption of the works.
Apply for and attain new site postal addresses.
Liaise with statutory undertakers to establish supply provision and diversion requirements, obtain competitive quotations for the works and negotiate best value for the company.
Provide technical support and solutions through the construction stage on a regular pro-active basis.
Chair on site monthly Project Meetings to resolve technical issuesrequirements promptly.
Chair and lead regular design team meetings with the professional team.
Be part of the in house planning supervisory team and be proactive in promoting health and safety.
Assist in gathering information and As-Built records during the course of a project in order that the Health and Safety File and purchaser information packs are ready on completion.

The role requires a strong technical knowledge base. Ideally from a technical design background within an Architectural setting.
Suitable candidates will be from an Architectural Technologist / Technician background with some Residential experience.
Knowledge of the house building industry gained preferably with a high volume house builder or Architectural Practice.
Good administration and organisational skills.
Capable of producing construction drawing packages using autocad.
Circa 5 years experience.

Salary up to £40,000 per annum + 25 days holiday, excellent bonus, life insurance policy, flexible working hours.

The place of work is Morely, West Yorkshire, flexible working hours are 09.00 – 17.30pm with the option of some remote working.
