HVAC Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced designer who can support our HVAC Projects with completing detailed designs and specifications, calculating costs and leading all aspects of projects from installation to completion.
Primarily the role will be to support our sales team in the development of equipment sizing, design and estimating for the installation of VRV and VRF systems. There will be a secondary requirement to support should design issue arise during the execution of the projects.
How you will do it
We need you to take ownership of enquiry specifications, drawings and associated documents to determine the exact scope required. You will act as a domain expert during the pre-bid process providing support with equipment selection, project estimating and production of quotations. To achieve common goals, you'll provide support the UK & Ireland sales team with your technical expertise around HVAC design. Travel will be expected, as you'll need to attend on site reviews with suppliers & contractors.
Scope of key responsibilities:
Full design and costing of HVAC solutions in line with customer expectations and tender specifications
Calculation and evaluation of cooling load or air volume requirements and associated primary and supporting plant selection
Development of supporting drawing/diagrams relevant to solution requirements
Associated control system functional description
Associated logistical and installation requirements along with practical risk and installation assessments
What we look for
Proven experience of design and estimating within a HVAC environment
Solid understanding of mainstream HVAC systems and networks
Experience in HVAC solutions, primarily VRV and VRF installations
Good understanding of Engineer Drawings (Mechanical and Electrical)
Ability to lead and influence both internal & external customers at all levels
Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
