User experience is at the heart of every digital product we create. It is an important part of our work process, and so we are looking for an experienced UX designer to take the helm and help grow this part of our business.

Eden Agency is a digital agency in Knaresborough – not far from Leeds, York, or Harrogate (although a lot of our team now chose to work remotely). We design and build thoughtful and innovative websites, web apps and mobile apps for clients in retail, finance, education and more.

The role

We are looking for an experienced UX designer to play a key role in developing and delivering UX and UI design work to clients. You will also be involved in developing our UX strategy and processes, leading other designers and working closely with clients to understand their requirements.

You will be involved in all aspects of the UX research and design lifecycle. This includes:

● Discovery.
● Planning, conducting and evaluating user research.
● Persona development.
● Information architecture design.
● User flows, wireframing and prototyping.
● Responsive UI design.
● Planning, conducting and evaluating usability tests.
● Iteratively improving client work using all the above.

Responsibilities

● Creating and presenting UX proposals to prospective and existing clients.
● Planning, conducting and evaluating UX research using relevant UX methodologies.
● Designing and facilitating workshops with stakeholders.
● Designing user flows, wireframes and test ready prototypes.
● Planning, conducting and evaluating usability tests.
● Understanding and eloquently communicating UX and UI principles and processes.
● Working collaboratively with both internal and external teams.
● Leading and supporting other designers.
● Supporting the sales team on bids and pitches with creative ideas and estimates.

Requirements

● A minimum of 2+ years experience in a user experience role.
● A passion for understanding users in order to create products they will find valuable.
● An understanding of UX research methods, when to use them and how.
● Be able to rationalise every design decision through research and best practices.
● Leadership skills.
● Be a champion for accessibility both within the agency and with clients.
● Be confident in dealing with clients.
● Be comfortable in using prototyping programs such as XD, Sketch and Figma, as well as design and collaboration focused software like Adobe CC, Invision, Miro etc.
● Be an advocate for design within the agency.

Nice to have

● A degree or relevant qualification in HCI, experience design, communication design or multimedia design.
● Experience working in an agency environment.
● Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS.
