Role Profile:

As Design Principal, you will be helping develop and deliver the Design strategy for the region to maintain and increase our client pool and portfolio. You will be a strategic leader, optimising the work of your team and elevating our brand in the UK.

Your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing design activities in the UK and driving for new target clients. The key elements of the role involve the following:

Developing and deploying the Design strategy, leading design innovation for the London Studio
Collaborating with the EMEA Design Lead to develop annual business and workforce plans for the UK
Developing and managing key client relationships to build our brand in the UK and drive for increased opportunities with target clients
Maintaining a high-level overview of all Studio design projects
Providing financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting information
Leading the Design team, in collaboration with the management and Delivery team, to ensure financial project targets are met
Running key bid/pitch presentations on Design and the practice's methodology to win new business and expand the business' portfolio in the UK
Ensuring the culture, values and behaviours of people in the Studio are aligned to the organisation and the delivery of our methodology
Driving design best practices, initiatives, processes and technology to improve design consistency in collaboration with the EMEA Leads
Collaborating Studio management, where required, to develop and implement risk management plans and ensuring appropriate action is taken when risks arise e.g. Legal, reputational and financial risks
Fostering a culture of Corporate Social Responsibility
Acting as an Ambassador for our valuesKey Measures:

Ability to provide an overview of each studio project and its current status to management, when needed
Project bids are accurate and meet client needs, with realistic and achievable costs and timelines
Studio budget, project profitability and client satisfaction targets are met, and commercial returns are achieved
Secured additional opportunities through industry recognition and/or received industry recognised awards for design innovation, which enhance brand and drive further sales opportunities
Adequate resourcing, training and engagement plans are implemented to meet the needs of the Studio
Effectiveness in performance management of the Design team (both driving out-performance and dealing with under-performance)
Consistent standards, technology solutions and process applied across the studio
Studio risk management plans are implemented with evidence of appropriate action taken
Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives implemented in line with global and regional visionExperience and Skills Required:

Tertiary qualification or equivalent, in design-related discipline
High level technical knowledge
Understanding of project financials, CRE and approvals
Success leading high-performance teams
Experience working on a range of large projects
Client-oriented with an ability to develop strategic relationships
Strong pitching/presentation and communications skills, including with high profile clients
Innovative and conceptual thinking to influence others and drive for results
Ability to develop a team and build organisational talent
Business acumen and organisational agility
