This Packaging Designer position is with one of the world's largest and most reputable chemical and FMCG manufacturers. Operating from their state-of-the-art site in Port Sunlight, Merseyside, the company is continuing to invest millions of pounds on site into brand new innovative equipment, focussed on automation and robotics.
The company manufactures some of the world's most recognisable brands from their upper-tier COMAH sites. Strong investment into this site has led to the development of a world leading project and asset care team, regularly tasked with multi-million-pound projects. With the addition of a Packaging Designer they are looking at strengthening this team.

Dimensions of the Packaging Designer position;
* Work together with the Manager to transform marketing/brand ideas, consumer insights and business needs into excellent solutions.
* Lead the technical development from concept through to proving manufacture at scale.
* Manage the relationship with suppliers in the development of solutions.
* Lead testing activities, understand and interpret results, make recommendations, and build robust specifications.
* Develop new or existing plans that meet supply chain, formulation, consumer, brand, regulatory and legal requirements.
* Explore disruptive technologies and ideas which will bring new products that enhance consumer experiences.
* Work across multiple innovation projects and cross-functional teams in different geographies, sharing best practice, facilitating, and supporting project development and rollout.
* Knowledge and guidance – work and communicate effectively with different functions, R&D partners, and suppliers to deliver against the project network timings and identify and manage risks.
* Play an active role in leading and contributing to the Strategy and other category activities.

To be successful in this position as the Packaging Designer, candidates will have previous industry experience. The candidate will need to have a creative, logical and analytical mind to generate innovative design solutions to technical design problems. To be a successful candidate you must have relevant experience in development including testing and understanding of technologies.
The Packaging Designer must be passionate about sustainability, brands, and their consumers and have great people skills; building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with an ability to be persuasive and assertive when necessary. The Packaging Designer will need the ability to work well both independently and as part of a wider cross-functional team.
