Senior Design Development Engineer

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?
As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you will take a cradle to the grave approach to Design work. You will receive remuneration in the region of circa £35K and you will gain 25 days holiday per annum.
In the role you will manage the activities, workload and personnel development within the Design, Technical and Sampling functions – optimising the resources available at any given time. The role requires the management and co-ordination of senior stakeholders and managers across the range of sales, marketing and operations.
You will be managing across different functions and departments to resolve cross-functional issues and initiatives. Agreement of priorities, addressing issues and gaining stakeholder engagement.

The organisation in question is based in the Gateshead area. The business has 6 sites across the UK and is the process of securing additional sites via acquisition. Specification advice
Design briefs
Innovation, R&D and Product development
Design input review advice and guidance
Development of the Design principles
Company presentations
Run internal and external training programs
Packaging awards co-ordination
Pre-sales support
THE PERSON
Minimum 5 years corrugated design experience.
Ideally to have experience in managing and leading teams.
Strong technical knowledge of design techniques and software.
Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent) in design related subject.
Creative and innovative flair.
Track record of success in delivering complex projects.
Capable of managing / supervising a number of projects simultaneously.
Effectively manage resources to achieve project timescale and budget.
Networking and communication skills; able to deal with people at higher levels within the organisation.
Excellent interpersonal skills in influencing, negotiation and communication.
Good knowledge of industry level business operations and systems knowledge.
Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrates integrity when working with colleagues and leads others by setting example of required behaviours.
Assisting with skills development and delivery of change and development actions.
Knowledge of wood design would be beneficial
THE PACKAGE
This is a permanent role. The role centres on day shift hours. The position pays circa £35K per annum. The role also comes with 25 days holiday plus statutory and pension scheme.
