Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm Friday 8.30am – 4pm

Role Responsibility:

As a Trainee Colourist you will be responsible for producing innovative and commercial colourways for a variety of own brand and customer ranges for both bedding and curtains.  You will be responsible for ensuring suppliers have all the correct information to take the product into bulk production.

The Candidate

·         Design degree in print textiles or relevant A Levels – Full Training will be provided

·         Excellent time management and organisational skills.

·         Able to work to strict deadlines and work under pressure.

·         A flexible attitude to all tasks.

·         Strong IT skills required – Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (Good proficiency with Excel).

The Role

·         Colour development work for all internal and customer ranges

·         Identifying new colour trends

·         Interpreting customer trends into commercial colourways

·         Recolouring old designs to bring them up to date

·         Printing designs on digital printers

·         Preparing the colour standard packs

·         Sending files to other members of the design team and other colleagues in the business

·         Organising approved files within colouring software and sending correct ones for printing

·         Approving bulk printing layouts

·         Making sure designs are printable in bulk production

·         Separating designs where necessary to ensure best end results

·         Colour matching
