DESIGN ENGINEER
This is the chance for an experienced Design Engineer to join a successful engineering business, who have this new opportunity, due to an increased workload.
You will be tasked with the full design process for new products from concept designs to detailed manufacturing drawings.
The business designs and manufactures different types of equipment and specialize in bespoke design solutions to suit individual customers requirements.

Design Engineer Candidate Requirements
* Strong experience using 3D CAD software (Solidworks)
* Full lifecycle design experience – concept design, 2D/3D modelling, engineering drawings and designing for manufacture as well as maintenance and design improvement considerations
* Conveyor Design experience would be ideal, but isn’t essential
* Proven Project Management skills and experience
* Proficient IT skills with strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* General business acumen
Desirable Skills
* The Design Engineer will hold a relevant engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience of working with stainless steel, sheet metal and machined products
* Knowledge of working with cable assemblies, hydraulics, and pneumatics
* Working to produce CNC machine programs
Design Engineer Key Responsibilities
* Manage end to end design of new products
* Understand existing product range and identify key improvement areas
* Design products in 3D CAD for the UK and European markets (Solidworks)
* Produce detailed engineering/manufacturing drawings with Bills of Materials
* Develop working relationships with suppliers
* Work within individual project / customer design specifications
* Provide general technical expertise to assist company growth, e.g. Specifying new machines, new tools, designing assembly jigs, new computer software, product development
* Produce technical documents, reports and presentations for internal and external use
* Your responsibilities will include all aspects of design and manufacture of the entire company product range
